Northern Lights Forecast in Ulster

This catalogue covers locations in Donegal, Cavan and Monaghan in the Republic of Ireland. Ulster is a historic province that also extends into Northern Ireland; forecasts for Northern Ireland are listed separately under the United Kingdom.

Compare the local forecast for a place you can reach, such as Letterkenny or Buncrana. Aurora activity, darkness, cloud and an open northern horizon all matter. Conditions at one location do not describe the whole province.

Use the darkness and viewing-window information on your local forecast, then check the latest cloud and space-weather readings before heading out. There is no fixed hour or Kp value that guarantees a view.
