Coordinates mark a reference point within this area. Conditions vary by location; check access before visiting.
The next 24 hours use calculated local darkness and a retained aurora activity heuristic. They are not a measured or statistically calibrated chance of seeing aurora. Aggregate cloud cover is held constant unless a timed weather forecast is available.

Velebit, Croatia, is at 44.5°N. Aurora visibility depends on local conditions as well as geomagnetic activity. Its verified magnetic latitude is 38.9°N; Kp 7–9 is an approximate screening range, not a visibility probability. Sightings at this latitude are unusual and should not be expected on a typical night. Find a dark, open northern horizon and check the sky before travelling.
Follow forecasts, cloud maps and aurora alerts for Velebit in Aurora Hunt, then confirm darkness, local cloud and access before going outside.
Read an aurora forecast as a decision stack: space weather first, then local sky, darkness, moonlight, horizon and route feasibility.
Understand Kp as a global geomagnetic disturbance index, how it relates to NOAA storm levels, magnetic latitude and common forecast mistakes.
Learn why active aurora can still be invisible when low cloud, moonlight, haze, city glow, blocked horizons or poor transparency win.
Keep northern lights forecasts, cloud maps and aurora alerts for Velebit together in Aurora Hunt. Check the local sky before heading outside.
